151 Radio

Everyone likes listening to different kinds of programs on the radio, but how are they made?

The sound engineer responsible for recording a large number of Talk Chineasy podcasts, Suzy Robins, talks to ShaoLan about why she became a sound engineer and learns not just how to say radio in Chinese, but also many other things related to electricity and recording!

The abbreviated word for radio is made up of the words 電/电 which means ”electricity” and 台 which means ”platform.” The full version is 廣播電台/广播电台 which means ”broadcasting electric platform” although generally, 電台/电台 is enough for people to know you’re talking about radio.
