What did Confucius famously say about being young? In our day everybody wants to stay young, but what does it mean to have a young heart? Carole Stone CBE, learns how to say young in Chinese and talks about the concept of being young, how to stay enthusiastic about life and keep a sense of hope whatever happens.

The word 年 means “year” or “age.” When we add the word for “light” 輕/轻 then we get 年輕/轻 “light in years” or “young.” Similarly, add the word 老 “old” or “experienced” we get 年老 “old in years” or simply “old.”
