095 Today Tomorrow Yesterday

天 (tiān) means day and sky.

今天 (jīn tiān) means today and 今 (jīn) means now.

明天 (míng tiān) means tomorrow. 明 is composed of 日 (rì) and 月 (yuè). Can you get the meaning of 日 and 月?

昨天 (zuó tiān) means yesterday. In the character 昨 (zuó), we see 日 (rì) and 乍 (zhà), which means the sun and suddenly respectively.

Immediately after the sun sets, today becomes yesterday.
