Because of their lovely hair, this breed has even got the nickname 金毛 (golden hair/fur; jīn máo) in Chinese.

The first two characters, 臘腸/腊肠, mean “sausage.” And the last character, 犬, is “dog.” So, putting them together, 臘腸犬/腊肠犬 (sausage dog) refers to the breed Dachshunds.
Dachshunds come in three different coat types: smooth, long and wire-haired. Regardless of their coat types, they are all playful and energetic. They are also loyal and affectionate, making them great pets and watchdogs.
